I have to admit that I don’t use my Cricut as much as I should when creating my pages.  Lately, it seems as if I’ve been more concerned with catching up on all of my albums (which I have), than spending a whole lot of time on the design aspect of creating layouts.  Now, that I’m finally caught up, I think I ready to expand on my cartridge collection.  And my first purchase has to be Creative Memories new cricut cartridge, Total Sports.

As I’ve completed my kids albums over the past 2 years, my biggest complaint with the Cricut cartridges has been the lack of variety for sports themes.  Although I LOVE the varsity font, it’s been a little difficult to find a good variety of shapes for swimming, the sport which my oldest daughter swam for 8 years and the sport my 16 year old son has been a part of for 10 years.  So, I was extremely excited that Creative Memories has launched a great cartridge with tons of cuts and a cool selection of font choices.  From track to swimming, this cartridge covers a vast amount of sports and cut ideas.  Trust me, if you have little ones involved in sports, this cartridge has it all and may be the only cartridge you use when documenting their sporting activities.

If you’re like me, creative borders are pretty tough to design.  And, quite frankly, after a while, you can only change the colors of your favorite design so many times.  But, Creative Memories has put together a great system for creating the best borders that pop off your pages.

The Border Maker System makes creating borders super easy and fabulous.  This unique system makes offers a variety of border cuts for all seasons and celebrations.  As many of you know, one of the main problems with many border systems is that it is difficult to line up your design for a perfect cut.  However, with its grooved sections and tabbed makers, you will never question your spacing again.   The options are limitless.  Trust me, you will NEVER use another border system again.

When it comes to traditional scrapbooking, nothing says creative like a shape maker.  Whether it’s a small simple punch, or a larger one, shape makers definitely make a scrapbookers life a little easier.  So, it was with extreme excitement that I couldn’t wait to try out Creative Memories new Shape Maker system.

Although a little bulky and heavy, the shape maker is very easy to use.  One of the main issues that I have had over the past few years is the wear and tear on my old shape makers.  It has become increasingly difficult to make punches with some of them without spraining my wrist (an obvious exaggeration).  The ease of making shapes with the new system is seamless and extremely easy on these aging joints.

The beginning system does come with the maker and a square and circle punch.  Many individuals may already have these in their supplies, which is a downside to the new system. However, new shapes are available and in the line-up for release.
